The Suspending Vibration 70 is built on the design of the popular Rock N Vibe lipless crankbait. The difference is that it’s 15 percent larger and unlike most lipless crankbaits, the Suspending Vibration 70 suspends 3 to 4 feet below the surface. It features a tight, pulsating vibration and is part lipless and part jerkbait.
“Being suspending, you can fish it just like a jerkbait, you can throw it out there, and zip it, kill it and let it sit there, watching your line until you see your line jump,” said Major League Fishing pro Fred Roumbanis. “The Suspending Vibration is similar to a jerkbait and can be fished a lot like a jerkbait, except it’s a lipless crankbait.”
The bait acts like a jerkbait and will suspend completely at rest, making it an ideallure for fishing above grass, rock and wood. It can be fished like traditional liplesscrankbaits and paused at any moment to trigger strikes from less aggressive fish.
Recommended Line and Gear
Roumbanis recommends different lines depending on the situation and the samerod style he would use for shallow squarebill crankbaits: a 7-foot medium-heavycranking rod.”The lightest I will go with is a 12-pound fluorocarbon, but I fish it a lot onmonofilament to keep it higher in the water column,” he said. “15-pound is a greatstarting point and will keep the bait rising above shallow cover. The differencebetween monofilament and fluorocarbon is huge with this bait because mono willfloat it up much higher in the water column and sometimes you need that.”
