Michael Murphy made his mark as Fisheries Biologist, Lure Designer, and Professional Angler. He teamed up with ima Japan to create the next-generation jerkbait, the Flit.
ima combined Michael Murphy’s biology expertise with its advanced technology and the Flit 100 was born. Named for its erratic fleeing action and 100mm length, it was designed to “match the hatch.” It features a broad back, flat sides, and a narrows to match to mimic the flat-sided baitfish closely.
The Flit 100 incorporates a realistic finish, a uniquely designed bill for ease of use and specially designed triangular chambers. This creates constant focal points of contact, maximizing vibration and sound consistency. The ima Flit 100 was developed to trigger strikes and enhance your fishing experience.
The Flit 100 has a forward pointed, skinnier bill that takes advantage of the Flit’s superior design, maximizing the built-in action. You can fish it in several different ways.
Jerk Pause:
Start with slack and end with slack after each series of jerks allowing the bait to glide back and forth.
Deadsticking:
Start with a couple of cranks and jerks to get the bait to the desired depth and then pause the lure with a slack line.
Burning:
Reel the jerkbait in fast spurts stopping periodically. A very effective technique around shad spawns and schooling fish.
Recommended Line and Gear
A medium jerkbait casting or spinning rod will have the right action to cast the lure long distance and work it correctly. It can be fished on an 8 to 12-poundfluorocarbon line, with the thinner diameter lines getting the bait down deeper.
